The ocean is a vault full of fascinating creatures one of them is orca. A really unique massive predator that has some secrets that are not obvious.
1. Orcas aren’t whales
Because of their size and because they are also called “killer whales “ people might consider them as whales. But they are dolphins, they belong to dolphins’ family.

2. Every killer whale’s group has an own language.
Each pod speaks different dialect. The sounds that they make are so unique that scientists can identify the group just by listening to them. Which leads researchers to think that the language is transmitted socially rather than known innately.

3. Orcas are smart.
Killer whales are known as one of the most intelligent animals in the world. Their brain is the second largest after sperm whale. They show really complex social skills, interesting hunting behaviour and they even play games.

Why are they called 'killer whales'? Are they really so dangerous?
